XR Community Lab

The XR (extended reality) Community Lab, Richter Library room 326, is available for individual and small group demos in virtual reality and augmented reality.  The lab has an HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest 2, and Magic Leap headsets available. Visit the XR Community Lab subject guide for a list of apps or available, or make a request for a specific app or type of app.

To request a demo or for more information, please contact Vanessa Rodriguez, Head of Creative Studio. The XR Community Lab is a pilot program in Richter 326. This program is a collaboration between UM Libraries, UMIT Innovate, and School of Communication Interactive Media program.

The Creative Studio has Oculus Quest headsets for check-out from Richter Library. Reserve a headset on our reservation website. Scroll through or use the drop down menu for Category to narrow the results down to Oculus.

Augmented Reality – Magic Leap

Magic Leap One is an augmented reality, spatial computer that lets you see and interact with digital content in the world around you. The library has Magic Leap headsets available to loan out for research purposes. If you are working on a project and need a headset, please contact Vanessa Rodriguez. If you are interested in a project for Magic Leap and require assistance, please visit the university’s XR Initiative website for guidance.
