Julia is a sophomore from Champaign, Illinois, majoring in Exercise Physiology and minoring in Public Health. Julia plans to pursue a master’s degree in Nutrition and a medical degree after graduation. She enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family and friends.
Cameron is a History and Political Science major from Dallas, Texas focusing on insurgencies in South America. Following his graduation, Cameron plans to become a high school history teacher and loves the opportunity to assist students with their research. He also enjoys soccer, reading and playing guitar.
Ava De Leon
Ava is a junior from Dallas, TX double majoring in Marine Affairs and Public Relations. Ava’s research interests include marine conservation, science communication, and sustainability.
Tram is a junior, pursuing majors in Biochemistry and Physiology and minors in Chemistry and Art History. Tram plans to attend graduate school, continuing her career in research. Topics of interest include genetics, stem cells, and mitochondria.
Veronica is a junior from Miami Beach, FL, majoring in Sociology and Criminology, and minoring in Philosophy and Psychology. Veronica plans to go to law school and study criminal law. She enjoys playing tennis, watching crime shows, and spending time with friends and family.
Kate holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois and is currently a fourth year PhD student in philosophy at the University of Miami. She also works in the Cuban Heritage Collection and is a UMIA/LASP Distinguished Research Fellow for the 2021-22 academic year.
