Streaming Audio Reserves

Weeks Music Library provides streaming audio reserves services for instructors of music and other courses. We currently use a combination of links to our streaming databases (Naxos, Alexander Street Press’s Music and Performing Arts, and DRAM, among others) and audio files uploaded by our staff and streamed via Kaltura, a video and audio management system in use across the UM campus. All streaming audio reserves will be made available via Blackboard in an “audio reserves” tab.

Information for Students

Links to streaming audio databases can be accessed on or off campus; off-campus use may require you to log in with your ‘Cane ID and password. Kaltura files are streamed via Blackboard and do not require any additional login.

Information for Instructors

If you have required listening for your students, and you would like for this audio to be streamed in Blackboard, contact music librarian Amy Strickland. Please provide the following information:

  • Course Name
  • Course Number
  • List of works/pieces (either a syllabus with this information included or a separate list)

For quickest results, please provide CD and track numbers, especially if you prefer a specific performance.

If you would like the listening list to be in a certain order, please give us that information; otherwise, we will place the audio files in alphabetical order by composer/performer and title.

Please allow approximately two weeks for processing of streaming audio.
